Wifi in the Duderstadt urban area
Free Wifi for citizens and tourists
In collaboration with the WiFi specialist HOTSPLOTS, Duderstadt has implemented a free network for citizens and tourists. The modern „Duderstadt_WLAN“ seamlessly combines a secure, high-performance internet connection with the historic charm ofthe medieval backdrop.
Objective
Establishment of a secure WiFi network in Duderstadt to enhance the quality of stay for residents and visitors.
challenge
A high-performance network (up to 100 Mbps) that combines youth protection and historic building conservation.
solution
Together with HOTSPLOTS, more than ten high-performance access points and direc- tional radio links were installed. To preserve the historic building status, the outdoor antennas were color-matched exactly to the historical buildings, while special youth protection filters were activated in areas frequented by younger audiences.
„From the start, HOTSPLOTS proved to be the accomplished partner we needed for this expansion. Thanks to their flexible and secure solution, we were able to optimally combine historic preservation, youth protection, and high perfor- mance—with an infrastructure that we can easily expand in the future.“
